It all started when…

She is the co-founder behind Ravishly.com — a culture site with a feminist lens which launched in January 2014 — which grew to an audience of 400,000 in little over a year and continues to thrive today.

Leveraging the success of Ravishly, she and her dear comrades Nikki Gloudeman and Kelley Calkins, subsequently founded The Establishment in October 2015, with an angel investment of one million dollars. Within nine months, The Establishment was greeting more than a million unique visitors a month, championing marginalized voices through all kinds of mediums—from memoir and reported features to photo essays, podcasts, and short documentaries.

The Establishment shuttered its doors on April 15th 2019. (Did you know that finding an ethical and sustainable revenue stream for intersectional feminist media is rather…impossible?!)
